Why BrandClik?This concept was not dreamed up while in the shower or on a deserted highway or even while hiking K2. It brewed out of pure frustration and a lot of Frisbee tossing in our office parking lot. All of us having worked at other organizations realized that brand names, in particular Trademarked words were being abused by a number of advertising networks for the benefit of the ad network and competitors who were allowed to bid on those sacred corporate words. The losers are/were the Trademark owners who are still stuck with having to spend money to bid against others on their own name (hello, insane!) and fight what has become a losing battle against some advertising networks which seem to think this practice is a viable way to make money. Many of us also have also used advertising networks as a method for generating income on our publisher or content sites, but we were unable to scale the projects because we never knew exactly how much money we were going to make or how to replicate it on a daily basis. Sure, you can do averages and of course when you reach a certain size it almost doesn't matter, but the bulk of the Internet and its content is not in the top 50 websites for traffic. Since most ad networks today are bidding systems and because of that very construct they must purposely blind both parties (advertisers and content providers...that's how they keep us all guessing) to maintain the system. Unfortunately, this does not allow a content provider to scale because they have no idea how much they can or should make. When making investments to grow their own online business the process becomes a losing proposition no matter how they slice the pie, so to speak. We here at BrandClik felt it was time for a change and our goal is to unlock the mystery of how much advertisers spend and how much content providers charge. By giving everyone insight into what each party is doing, it will make the online advertising universe less of a gamble, less of a game and provide the capacity to publishers to scale while protecting Trademark and brand owners in the process. Publishers in our system choose how much they wish to charge per click and advertisers either opt in or not based on being able to see exactly what the publisher requires. That's it! Oh and yeah we filed for a patent on this business method last year so no funny stuff. Is the picture becoming a bit more clear now? Wonderful!
